[Singapore] Mad for Garlic

Garlic Snowing Pizza from Mad For Garlic S$18.90

We tried Mad for Garlic 2 months ago. We were at Suntec and totally famished, then we remembered we had a SCB credit card voucher from Mad For Garlic, where we can order any main and  get their signature garlic snowing pizza for free. It was a really great deal and we decided to try it out. The decor was European chic and the place pretty quiet when we were there (eating at the off-peak time of 5pm) so we really enjoyed the quiet ambience. This restaurant originated in Korea and they have 11 outlets there, one outlet in Singapore and one in Jakarta.

Of course we have to try the signature garlic snowing pizza and I like it. B said it was a little too garlicky, but well they did say it was a garlic pizza and this is afterall a garlic themed restaurant. Perhaps it’s because I  love garlic, so no complaints from me. The pizza is thin crusted and topped with crispy garlic flakes and pineapples. Each slice comes with a prawn. I think it’s called “snowing” pizza because just before they serve it to you, they use a nifty gadget to press out grated cheese and the topping resembles snow? Just a wild guess.

Lobster Pasta S$19.90

The main we ordered to qualify for the free pizza was this lobster salad which was topped with tobikko. I personally find it a little bland but then again,  I never do very well with creamy pastas, so midway through I have to let B have the rest of the pasta. I much prefer the garlic pizza. The garlic taste in this dish wasn’t too apparent but I think that’s a good thing because garlic and cream in equal proportions don’t seem to match so well to me.

A chunk of lobster meat. I think the serving of the lobster meat was generous enough but I can’t really tell it’s lobster :P Oh yeah, I think their presentation is really pretty so that kind of adds to the enjoyment of the food.

I’m ever the bargain hunter – I saw a buy one get one free promo (entrees) on their website when you join their email club, so I don’t mind eating this again to try out other items on their menu.
